1960

The first structured packing is developed by MONTZ and introduced successfully.  This is the fine vacuum system “Kloß“, consisting of a capillary distribution tray, a support grating with suspended double-threaded spiral springs.
After the MONTZ tunnel traytray “System STREUBER“ was successfully introduced worldwide at the end of the 1950s, the "THORMANN®-tray" was developed.

and during the following years, the partitioning technology was developed to a standard solution of distillation technology

Development of BSH-Packing, a structured packing made off fine rib mesh

Development of Liquid distributor “Type S“ for minimum trickling densities

FRI tested the separation performance of MONTZ-Pak Type BSH-250 in Alhambra, California

1996

SRP in Austin, Texas, tested MONTZ Pak B1 packing types

1998

First dividing wall column with loose partition wall

1999

Development of MONTZ high performance packing Type M and Type MN

2000

SRP in Austin, Texas, tested MONTZ- high performance packing Type M

2000

Realization of first dividing wall trayed column with loose separating wall

Build-up packing, an innovative structured packing for the separation of watery mixtures, mixtures with poor wetting properties and reactive distillations

Performance tests with high performance packings Type MN by Bayer Technology Services

2011

Test of high performance packing Type B1-250MN at FRI in Oklahoma

2012

Test of high performance packing Type B1-350MN at FRI in Oklahoma

(*1) FRI: Fractionation Research Inc., founded in 1952 by US companies in crude oil industry as independent institution with the purpose of investigating the performance of column internals from various manufacturers.  MONTZ is an FRI member since 2010.
